Early Warning and Early Action Against Extremist Ideologies
On December 18, a workshop titled “Early Warning and Early Action Against Extremist Ideologies” was held in Gjilan, organized as part of the project “Fighting Extremism in Kosovo: Trends, Challenges, and Countermeasures,” supported by the Matra program of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo.
The workshop gathered a diverse group of participants from the municipalities of Gjilan, Kamenica, Viti, and Ferizaj, including school directors, social work center managers, deputy mayors, religious representatives, Kosovo Police members, and experts from various social fields.

The researcher Adelina Hasani led the workshop, encouraging participants to share experiences and engage in collaborative discussions to identify extremist narratives in the community, including religious, ethnonationalist, and anti-gender ideologies. The discussions also focused on developing potential effective mechanisms to combat and prevent extremism at early stages.

During the workshop, participants exchanged their fieldwork experiences and took part in group work, where they formulated concrete recommendations for preventing extremism. The high level of engagement and interactivity from the participants made this workshop an important step toward community awareness and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.
